"7th and 8th grade students in Ms. Bailey's class made piñatas out of recycled cardboard and papel picado. The voted theme was cartoon or character and students only had about 4 hours in total to complete their project. Together, students worked hard to complete a fully covered piñata and were given the option to break them. Some students valued their hard work so much that they voted to preserve their project as a work of art. We learned the history of piñatas goes back thousands of years. As long as there are children on this earth, there will be piñatas."
The Wonders of Wichita club was delighted to hand over a donation of $670.58 to a representative from the Kansas Humane Society. Throughout the school year, funds were collected through concessions, bake sales, and the popular annual fundraiser, which was a double elimination kick ball tournament. The students dedicated their efforts to organizing and hosting this successful fundraiser, and we couldn't be more proud of their contribution to our community! Way to go Wonders of Wichita Club!
